I'm looking to find a good pair of earphones for work, not headphones because they are too bulky to carry around. I have a generic pair that came with a MP3 player I bought ages ago that no longer works. I don't know where to start looking, but I'll take any suggestions.

Shure and Etymotic earbuds are excellent.

Shure and Etymotic earbuds are excellent.
Great brands, prices are no-skys-a-limit though. Look into some sennheisers. Try to stay away from sony and bose. I saw some IEM's on Ebay for dirt-cheap ($5 for a phillips or jvc including shipping). Also watch out for knock-offs like at dealextreme.
I recommend Sennheiser CX300 or higher myself, but I don't know em. I myself SD'd my way to JBL 210's for $4, new open box WITH warranty. I also heard the JBL 220's are pretty nice.

I've had good experience with Panasonic. They seem to do an adequate job with product support, which is more than what can be said about many manufacturers these days. Try going to wize.com or epinions.com for your research.

Without a doubt pick up a pair of the Creative headphones that just hit the front page, these have received very good reviews and sound much more expensive than they are.

JVC Marshmallows. I think I pricematched 5-6 pairs last Christmas for barely over $10 each. Great audiophile reviews for the price range, & one of the few phones that don't make my ears sore. Strictly a over-ear guy though. R.I.P. my Koss KSC35's.

Just stay away from overpriced and over-marketed Bose.

I realize that you posted nearly a month ago about finding a good pair of earphones. If you haven't found any yet, I would highly recommend Earpollution D33 (http://ifrogz.com/headphones/earpollution/) earbuds from ifrogz.com. My mom, my sister, and I all have a pair of these and they are great. They cancel out noise very well, and are absolutely the most comfortable pair of earbuds I have ever owned. Another plus is that they almost always have a great sale on their site. Right now you can get them for 20% off. They have many different sets of earbuds/headphones to choose from, but the D33 are what I have experience with and recommend them to anyone looking for a great pair. I haven't had any problems with mine, and I hear that they will easily replace them if you do. Just thought I would add to your options if you are still looking.
Good luck!

I agree...Bose is way to over-hyped. The ear phones aren't that great at all.
skullcandy is a pretty cool brand. Not too bad price wise either.

I bought these a week ago http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5706828
and have been pretty happy with them. I actually would rather have regular headphones but they won't allow them where I work.

I hear the "tangle free" Beats by Dr. Dre are like the best earphones ever. Getting a pair myself soon enough. You can find them in the Apple store.

I agree. Creative headphones are very good quality and not expensive.
