Which is a better brand/laptop for internet use/ casual gaming/ and a lot of music?

It comes down to what you value more - A larger screen with the IdeaPad or a much better processor with more RAM and a larger hard drive in the HP.

Personally, I couldn't do a smaller screen, but the equipment in the HP is a lot better. I'd recommend that, as long as you don't mind a 14" screen - Stop in @ Best Buy or somewhere and compare screen sizes if you haven't already.

Those are actually the wrong specs now that I review it, the other specs are for another one my sister might get so sorry about that

lenovo/ibm will last longer.

unless u're doing heavy gaming or something, the t3200 is adequate. the t5800 has double the cache and lil faster bus making it better for heavy graphics and such.

for daily basis, the t3200 is good. 550 for a lenovo is pretty good considering thier reliability.


hp is known for the value for money, but not as reliable as toshiba or lenovo as hardware goes

could you upgrade the proc on the lenovo to the t5800? usually less than 100 for that upgrade, this would make it the perfect laptop
