They call to make sure you still interested and if you have certain features like CID and stuff that you need for the trial there doing.
Also just because a few of us got in does not mean we will be testing the same phones. They have tons of trials going at once.

I did but always managed to call during their off-hours time and left a message but never got a response. So I filled out the consent form again - got called and missed it - this time I called the number I received (and not the 800 number I was given before) and after some confusion, ended up nowhere. Finally I emailed the person who sent me the initial email and he responded very quickly (calling me when I had my phone on me luckily) and that was 2 days ago- I just received the phone today! So after all that trouble (my fault for always missing calls) they were still willing to include me so I would totally suggest emailing the guy who sent your activation number :) I think he'll be more than happy to give you a call again to set it up!

Yup same for me, I recieved my Cordless phone Firday. Its an awesome phone, it has color screen, bluetooth so you can use your cell phone with it. Its an very thin phone and it is all covered in brushed stainless, it has a great look too it. Best thing is, it came with the expandable handset so i have two phones.

So usually if they call and your application was what they needed they will put you in a beta. Not everyone gets the same phones to test. So they might just be waiting for a better phone that fits your qualifications. And maybe that beta test hasn't started yet.

Seriously, their sound quality is like a toy phone. I bought one once on clearance for like $4 and I went with an At&t corded phone instead, it was that bad.

Perhaps they're made by the same company, but somewhere down the line, the VTechs must get kicked around or something!

In my experience, I received a phone call probably within a week of the email. They told me a little info on the phone that my details on services matched, and asked if I was willing to test it. They then verified my info before sending it. I'm guessing you will be on the list until your services match the requirements they are looking for, since they were pretty specific with me.

when they called me I remember they ask if i had celll phone and did i have bluetooth. I told them I do not have bluetooth. Then shortly after that i got email telling me i would get a phone for the sep-dec trial period.

Dear Trial Participant,

You have been selected to participate in VT_CS5121 field trial based upon the VT User Trial criteria and the Agreement form you signed. Please expect to receive a package containing the trial sample, instructions and user's manual by Oct 11, 2007 via UPS to the address you provided in the volunteer form.

This is the first stage of this trial. You will have to complete the Initial Questionnaire due approximately two weeks after installation and using the trial system.

We will send you an Email containing a soft copy of the questionnaire and a link to the on-line questionnaire prior to the due date. The questionnaire asks you to rate a number of features. Please try to use as many features as possible. If you have not used a particular feature, please indicate that by writing/select N/A in the rating section.

Sorry to say Im disappointed with the one I got...for being in an Advanced trial this sure isnt advanced other than being a 5.8...I hate to give up my fun downloadable ringtones,programmable characters etc. for CID, and take a step back into a boring one:rolleyes: oh well, it's free

The second phone they send you is the same exact phone. At least it has been each time I have tested phones. I thought the same thing the first time I tested a phone for them.

Yep what Sarge said and happy you like it :) In my experience, the second was actually a better version of the first as the first was a "trial version". Also, if you don't get your second phone, just call them.

The one I have been using for the past year(that I bought) is like your model only not the full color display-just orange and black------anyway I was told I would get an advanced test phone because of the one I currently have(which i told him which vtech model I use) and the one I was sent to test is just a plain ole cordless CID 5.8(no fun anything,no answering machine,basically nothing)---Im upset because I don't want to give up all my fun features from the phone I currently use to test this boring one...but like I said---it's free

If you all read, the date of the OP was july/07. They might not be accepting applications right now, but they tend to come back often.
Instead of just bumping the thread with the same info, I will add to the wiki( second post) that as of today they are not currently accepting applications. Now when they do again, someone should change it.

I just got a DECT phone with 3 headsets.

Oh, I wish I had gotten that one! That's my main gripe with the system I am testing, it won't accept a headset.
