My mom is looking for a portable air purifier - one that you can plug into an outlet. Problem is, I'm having trouble finding a good one based on reviews.

Anyone have one that they could recommend? Size is a medium sized bedroom, ionic is not necessary.

I bought the Hamilton Beach TrueAir 04381 Allergen Reducer Air Cleaner (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008R9PG) and it's pretty good. It's noisy (just the sound of air rushing), but that works well for Wifey and me since it gives us some white noise to sleep with.

I've got the same filter. I'm happy with it, since getting it I have stopped snoring. I found it cheaper directly from Hamilton Beach when I bought though.

I've had a few air purifiers and must say that the HealthMate 400 is the best I've used. Austin Air is the manufacturer and they make it easy to maintain. Oh and it's affordable. I bought mine at www.trustedair.com (http://www.trustedair.com)

I've never seen the Roomaid... but reviews show that its pretty effective. Let me know how it works and sounds. The worst is to have this LOUD air purifier in the corner of the room.
