Use the patches (and gum or lozenge if needed), or bupropion, or even Chantix but also make sure you break the habits. That's what's most important. This electronic cigarette won't help you break the habit. I know that's not why many people get these but quitting using these won't be very effective or easy (not that it is easy at all).
Just as a note: I've received training in helping people quit smoking. I used to help run a smoking cessation group.
Been using the e-cig for a month now....a pack a day smoker. Have had 1 real cigarette in the past 2 weeks and put that out because I didn't like the taste of it. You are wrong about it not helping quitting smoking.
take a look at this forum

if you will find lots of people who have quit smoking cigarettes with the help of a e-cigarette

| Thanks. I may have a try. | |

| My friend has these in his shop. If somebody needs, I can get those to you shipped for $50 (i dont know how the logistics can be managed). If somebody wants, pm me.
I think he has flavors also like camel, marlboro.

While what you're suggesting isn't allowed to be posted publicly on SD, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to include your friends info in your reply (name and location of his store). Your friend would most likely appreciate it, too.

| Per that e-cigarette forum, the "DSE-901/DSE-901b/Sedansa Nano I" is by FAR the most often recommended brand/model.

Here are the ebay deals for DSE901.

I'm thinking I'll buy one with just 5 cartridges first. That's posibly only a day's worth of cartridges (some say, realistically, 1 cartridge = 8 - 10 cigarettes) for a smokestack like me, but I'd like to try it out before I buy a ton of cartridges, extra atomizers, batteries, etc.
Congrats to those who have and good luck to those who want to quit!

Ephedrine did wonders for high-intensity studies by keeping you awake and focused when used in calculated doses; but no, some asshole ran off and dosed it by the handful or turned it into meth and farked it up for everyone. Thank guys.
I have heard that argument before. But does it make sense to take any poison in moderation? A drug, BTW, is any substance that does not contribute to the nutritional needs of your body. Even good food can act as a drug if used immoderately.

| As a long time smoker and having used e-cigarettes for over a year, I can provide some input. What you want to get for daily use is the Ruyan E-Cigar, I got mine from Heavensgifts on ebay, its a Chinese company but they even honored their warranty when it went out, and it only cost 3$ in shipping to send it to China. Now, I also have the mini model for occasional use, but note that there are about three different models of these arround. The point is, the more it looks like a cigarette, the less amount of time the cartridge and battery will last since they are smaller.
Another advantage of the Ruyan E-Cigar is that it uses standard lithium rechargeable batteries, which can be purchased cheaply on ebay. The downside is the price, but it tastes much better than the ones that look like cigarettes, and it lasts about a day and a half (I used to smoke a pack a day), the minis last about half a day and I personally don't like the taste (they tend to be much sweeter),
Oh and about the health effects, I feel just as good as when I didn't smoke!

I guess these would also be great for people who can't be without a cigarette on an airplane, etc...

This device is intended to help people stop smoking cigarettes. It's like someone mentioned above...a virgin margarita, where you're still drinking what looks like a drink, with everything but the alcohol.

I used it on a plane, at bars, in class both teaching and as a graduate student, no one said anything, most people don't know what it is! If anything just don't exhale the smoke, I figure why let it go to waste! BTW, it complies with the clean air act since it has no tobacco in it...
