| Alternatively, you can buy it from Amazon [amazon.com] without tax (except for those in the state of Washington) and without rebates for $959.99.
For California buyers, total is $1095.49 upfront ($999.99+$87.50 tax+$8 CA Recycling fee) before $200 VISA prepaid. It will be $895.49 after the rebate but it takes 8-10 weeks to process.
The difference is $64.50 between Amazon and Microcenter. ($200 rebate --> $64.50???)
How to cash the pre-paid Visa card
Take it to your bank or credit union and ask them if they can do a cash advance on the card, worth the entire amount ($200). You can then have them deposit the money or give you cash then and there.

| This is a great deal, but there was a posting in regards to this macbook. However, it was stated before that this does not apply to the new white unibody macbook. Micro Center is trying to clear its stock with the old macbook line that they still had, therefore they issued this rebate along with purchasing an older version of the white macbook. | |

| Please read my post carefully. You're confusing different models. This is NOT old stock. This is not a Macbook Pro. | |
| | |
| Must be the old model. | |

| PEOPLE. Did I put too many words in the post? This is the NEW version of the Macbook. I don't know how I can make this anymore clear. | |
| | |
| Hot price on the new unibody MacBook! | |
| | |
| This model sells for $999 across the board. TU and Rep'd | |

| great deal for an awesome notebook! | |

| Repped for the find, and having to deal with these tools that keep ignoring EVERYTHING you say.
Microcenter periodically puts a $200 rebate on the lowest-model Macbook, I actually bought the one I am using right now when the Aluminum unibody was just released. It comes out to about $1,080 in store, and the rebate came reliably.
However, the critique the product, this Macbook is fairly lacking on features for its price. $800 barely covers the price of these features. I was actually happy because they had stopped their stepping of options, and just provided people with up-front choices. The 13 inch Macbook Pro finally has firewire, SD slot, and backlit keyboard (without having to pay a $200+ premium for it). However, they have played with the options on this new unibody, taking away features again. They are using the old unibody mold which doesn't have firewire or SD, they use a screen that even at max brightness is too dim, etc. It seems that they made the Macbook less appealing in person just to get people into the store at a $1,000 price point, and then get them to say "Oh, well I might as well upgrade to the Pro, it isn't that much more, and the upgrades are worth it." So, if you NEED an Apple laptop, then this is the way to go, since the rebate makes it reasonable. Otherwise, just pass it over for other models. | |

| I love how the OP was so polite in the OP, but then as he realized more and more people fail at reading, became flustered... I LOL'd. | |

| I was thinking about getting one of these, but 13.3" is just too small. Good find though! | |
