Add all three in the cart, and before checkout you'll see $200 instant rebate, which brings the total to $1240 before $400 rebate!

Amazon visa card holders can have another 3% back(so it's about $800) and prime members can get it Wednesday

Latest Update: Thank you MOkoFOko!!!(See his post below from pg58)

GOOD NEWS FOR EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD!

The Canon Rebate team has deliberated over information I brought to the manager this morning, and they have decided to officially allow the rebates at amazon to be processed WITH the instant rebates.

Personally I'd like to thank Amazon for its always prompt responses. Many people(including me) stick to the deal, because amazon gave mostly positive confirmation throughout. I exchanged emails with amazon several times, and always feel confident about the prospect of the rebate validity. Those confirmation served as a backstop(worst case is I return it for free). Thanks, amazon!

Please note:The $400 rebate validity has been confirmed by multiple resources, so for no other reason please don't call amazon/canon/abcpromotion as it's unnecessary.

Amazon has Canon EOS Rebel T1i 500D EFS with 18-55mm IS lens and Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens + PIXMA Pro 9000 Mark II Photo Printer & Tiffen 58mm UV Filter for $1256 - $400 Mail In Rebate = $857 with free shipping. Lowest prices for T1i Kit, 55-250mm lens, and Pro9000 Mark II printer from reliable sellers are, $740, $240 and $365, respectively. While other dealers offer the similar bundle rebates, the biggest difference here is the inclusion of the 55-250mm IS lens. Thank you haoafu

The kit consists of:
  • Canon EOS Rebel T1i 500D EF-S DSLR Camera
  • Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS Lens
  • Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens
  • 58mm Multicoated UV Protective Filter
Note, for the rebate to be valid, all items must be purchased from Amazon, and not a third-party seller and on the same receipt.

$400 Rebate comes in the form of a check.

Caution : If you are planning to use it for HD Video, not all memory cards work fine. Here are the recommended ones : (Feel free to update a deal or 2 for these memory cards)

Since it seems for a lot of people this is their first camera or SLR and asking about help with camera related things, these are the websites I use-

Q: Amazon broke my order up into to two orders. Will my rebate still be valid?

A: YES

From the Amazon.com rebate:

Price of the Camera itself dropped to $704.67 (Nov 11 '09)... for 2 hours as part of a special promotion. To the people who have asked if they can order now and request a price difference from yesterday--highly highly YMMV. You may as well request $14 back on the lens as well, because they were $219.99 a few days ago. I tried about a dozen different CSRs without luck once the price reverted to $234. This is the same situation. Good luck if you try. The only guaranteed price match is if you call when the CURRENT price is the price you want to match--and if your package hasn't been delivered. Some CSRs have stated in the past that they will price match within 7 days of delivery. The majority now say ONLY if package is not delivered. You can get lucky, but you may end up wasting your time, so don't get your hopes up. Hope this clears up some confusion.

As of 11/5 11:00AM, Canon gave the OK to the rebate center to honor both the $200 instant rebate AND the $400 combined rebate. We are good to go!!! Confirmed from 5 different callers to the Canon rebate center (abc promotions), please stop calling them now.

Note your printer purchase may ship separately from the rest of your purchase. Your "view order" page may show them separately. As long as you purchased everything from Amazon in the same checkout/payment and ship to the same address you shouldn't have any problems. Your amazon email invoice or a reprint of your invoice from amazon should be fine. Under "view order" in the "payment information" section you'll see a link on the right that says "need to print an invoice".

Deal is back!!!! Look under the "More Buying Choices" as well. GOGOGO!

Be sure to select amazon.com as the merchant (if it is not showing as default seller, check on the right side of the screen for Amazon as the seller. You will not get the $200 INSTANT rebate otherwise!!!

3yr Extended Warranty with Accidental Damage Protection $78 / 40% off ((YMMV))...
~~from NoSoMo~~ (find me towards the end of the post.....rep it up folks if this helps!!)
Ok, I was able to get a SquareTrade 3 year warranty with Accidental Damage Protection for $78. I purchased the Amazon.com 3yr warranty for $49.99. I then called them up and told them I wanted to add the ADH protection at the same 40% discount. I was told I couldn't do it, but after letting them know I was considering canceling the warranty and just waiting for one of the 40% or 50% deals to come along (at the risk of forgetting to purchase a warranty alltogether), suddenly a solution presented itself. The SquareTrade rep did the following....
- Canceled / Refunded my Amazon.com 3yr warranty
- Created a new 3yr warranty with ADH, and did so with a 30% discount
- I was then immediately refunded $12.99, which is the additional 10% to bring the total discount to 40%

129.99 3yr Warranty with Accidental Damage
-52.00 40% Discount
$78.00 Total

The amazon.com 3yr warranty can be found here. http://www.amazon.com/year-Camera...slickdeals
It DOES NOT include the ADH and is priced at 40% off. You may try to just call them and get the 40% off price initially, and if they don't budge, just try my route. You can always cancel no matter what. I'm very careful with everything I own, but I found $78 to be a very good price to cover everything but theft for 3 years. SLRs do have components exposed when the lens is off....I feel the protection is worth ~%10 of the price of the cam.

Filters
Do not skimp on getting the cheap uncoated filters for the camera. It's often the quality of the glass that sets cameras apart! You could completely ruin the images you're taking by using cheap filters. Below are two that you should consider... I ended up purchasing them both. Don't waste the time with a $12 cheapy...I wouldn't put that on a $100 cam, let alone an $800 SLR. Quality filters make a world of difference when shooting outdoors, as well as protect your lens.

HP Photo Paper - Buy one get one
For those of you keeping the printer, You can get HP paper, buy one get one free at amazon. Be sure to select that it comes from Amazon!! Do not buy more than 1 type at a time or else the buy one get one discount might not work properly (it was doing screwy things on me when trying to buy 5 different types). Because shipping is free above $25, just select each pair as a separate order. Discount isn't shown until step 3 of checkout! (Do not post that it isn't showing in the cart, I just told you why)

Ordered this same deal yesterday, repost.

Yesterday's deal is not from amazon, and it's dead already.

This is cheaper.

At what point in the process do you see the instant rebate? It doesn't look like it's happening for me.

Edit: Never mind, I see it applied on the last page. Hot deal!

This was posted in the thread yesterday, but no one noticed that it was a better deal. So this is a repost but you're just reposting to try to get credit for it. Nice.

Final page before submitting order, it'll be there.

Amazing how it works out, this deal is $3 cheaper than the previous Beach Camera deal (the latter including Bing cashback) - although this is clearly better because you aren't stuck waiting 60 days for the $40 cash back. Great opportunity for those who missed out on the previous deal!

How many rebates allowed per person or household? The rebate says one per purchase. Does that mean that I can submit more than one rebate if I purchase another?

Any idea how long the $200 instant rebate will last? The mail-in rebate will last through the new year, but the Instant Rebate makes it much sweeter. Will this deal stick around for a while?

Since this is Amazon, I doubt it will last long.
