No 8-pin CPU connector, unfortunately.

I just hacked the molex connectors to connect to the other 4 missing pins (12V and ground). Works great. Even with my CPU overclocked to 3Ghz and my 2 9600GTs overclocked in SLI, it still only pulls 250 Watts from the wall (while playing a less demanding 3D game).

Good deal. I paid $20 AR FS for the 400W 2 weeks ago.

Pretty nice PSU beware kinda short cables if you use a huge case. I have a Antec P180 and its super tight on the 4 pin cpu one

Actually got the 400W for $15 not that long ago. That was a SD. The 400W unit has really good reviews as well.

The 8-pin +12v adapter isn't necessary. It's just recommended. If it's a budget build and you're not doing a high OC, you'll be fine. I've built MANY machines and only used 4-pin of the 8-pin connector. read the manual... it says you can do that if you don't have an 8-pin. Heck, sometimes the boards come with a plastic piece covering the unused 4-pins if you don't plan on going with an 8-pin...

FP? It's a great price on a PSU but the modular version was $30AR the other day and wasn't front page. Was that really not worth the extra $5?

Great deal, but I don't want to stock up on psu around the house, so I think I'm going to wait for the OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ600MXSP 600W to reach $30-40 price range with free ship. |
