Beach Camera [beachcamera.com] (and Buydig) are selling the TomTom XL 340S GPS Navigation system for $109.95 ($179.95 with $70 instant rebate) with free 7-9 day shipping and no tax (unless in NJ). Site says this is for a new in-box item, and it's the best deal I've seen on this yet.
Like all new TomTom units, this comes with a 30-day map update guarantee.
Important: Do not upgrade your maps when you get the unit - most of them ship with version 830 (May release) or 825 (February). Version 835 (August) is currently available, but if you upgrade it will make you ineligible for the next update (version 840) which should be out by the end of the month! To be safe, just make a note to yourself to connect to TomTom Home and update on December 1st (or whenever you see something online about new maps being out). You can still update the unit's firmware without updating the maps. Just make sure not to use your "Latest Map Guarantee" until 840 is out.
Also, if you're obsessive about map updates, you can get a 1 year subscription to the map updates (usually 4 releases) for $39.80 [tomtom.com]. Not bad considering a single update usually costs $50+. If you're planning on doing this anyway, you can go ahead and use your free update and then start the subscription (I believe it is a 1 calendar year sub, not "next 4 releases").
Some FAQs about this unit since it's on the front page now (yay!):
4.3" Widescreen
Text-to-Speech
TomTom's new "IQ Routes" technology - supposedly this will make routing better over time, or at least give a more accurate ETA.
Advanced Lane Guidance - the unit will show you a 3-D view of major interchanges to show you what lane to be in
No Bluetooth (never had a GPS where this worked well anyway...)
No Traffic included (you can buy a $60 receiver + a monthly fee to get it if you really want it though - I've had this feature on other GPS units and I would say it's not something worth paying extra for)
For $110, it's pretty good. Just make sure to delete the foreign voices you won't use before updating the map (numerous guides on how to do this online - super easy and it doesn't take long).
