have one of these.. probably worth $10.. not any more than that. i would've returned mine but it was cheaper to keep it (vs restocking/return ship).

the short power cord is really annoying. haven't tried esata yet, only usb.. several reviewers at newegg had issues with esata. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6817121043

Newegg's product page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6817121043. 3/5, except the ratings are concentrated bimodally concentrated in the (1)'s and (5)'s

Main complaints appear to be (1) eSATA connection VERY spotty/unreliable/broken, (2) power brick design is such that it will almost certainly be sitting on your desk. (2) is something I can deal with, but (1) kills this for me. I'd rather pay $10 more for a reliable eSATA. but if you don't have eSATA anyway, $10 for a dock with a poorly designed power brick is a good deal.

bought last time, have not used much. Got the rebate reasonably quickly in 30 days.

Have you had the chance to try the esata port?

Great deal, but I've waited so long I will just wait for the first USB 3.0 versions to come out. IMHO it will be worth the $30 expansion card(s) and price premium when they come out.

I have one of these ($9AR) when the last time this deal came out and eSATA worked for me just fine.
