| Can someone explain what's meant by a "scrubbed receiver"? Did some web searching, but couldn't find a direct answer. | |

What happens when you scrub something? It gets scrubbed off....
The term is used in regards to collector rifles/ pre and post war collector arms that are of value.
A scrubbed receiver is one that has had the markings removed aka "scrubbed off" , a rifle is worth more with the markings intact.....
It really doens't matter with these though as they are not collector rifles of value

| OK, so it's just a matter of not knowing the rifle's history. My concern was that it could have some kind of affect on the reliability/longevity. | |

| The only thing they can promise is that they still shoot.
Note: I said shoot, not hit the target. lol

They have the crest scrubbed from the receivers, mismatched numbers and may have cracked handguards, and bores will be dark and may be counter-bored, but still a shootable and historical rifle.

I have a buddy. Let's just say he has 2 rifles. You just want to shoot at the mound? use this one. Want to intentionally hit something? Then use the one with the calibrated scope.

Yeah....I would not buy a counter-bored, dark bore rifle if I wanted to hit anything with it.

| is 8 mm powerful enough to stop those who.. well.. because I dont want to say it.. might not be as alive as you or me? I mean I am just saying if there is some form of apocalypse. I remember rule one is loads and loads of cardio. | |

| I never found having a counter bore or a dark bore having any impact on what I hit with it. It still works as a good club.
Now as to how accurate the rifle is at aiming and hitting the target with the bullet, now that is probably another matter.
